Part nutritional education, part sugar detox, part support group – an empowering combination!
Would you or anyone you know be interested in taking part in a Real Food Challenge and Sugar Detox in January?
I’m going to teach you how to have more energy, lose some weight, improve your mood and have more mental clarity through real food.
“Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.”
- Hippocrates
There is no reason many of today’s symptoms people suffer from can't be improved through attention toward proper nutrition. This strikes the root of the problem, rather than just putting a band-aid over a symptom of an even greater problem.
Ever since I became a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, I’ve been blown away by what I’ve learned. For instance, did you know that poor digestion universally leads to having low energy, inflammation, weight gain, feeling sad or depressed and experiencing brain fog? Did you know high-quality dietary fats lead to having a substantially better sex life? We are often led to believe that fat is bad for us, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Do you experience frequent heartburn that only seems to be solved by taking proton pump inhibitors, acid reducers or antacids? Did you know those drugs also stop your body from absorbing beneficial and essential nutrients like calcium and magnesium? Did you know those nutrients are essential to such things as not feeling sore or stiff in your muscles when you wake up in the morning? We are also led to believe that stomach acid is bad. Did you know most people suffering the symptoms of heart burn actually have too little stomach acid, instead of too much? Many people have been able to solve these sorts of problems permanently through better nutrition.
Did I get your attention yet?
I want to help spread knowledge like this, so in January, I am teaching the RESTART Program, a 5-week nutrition introductory course based on real food that will help people understand how digestion really works, what sugar really does to our bodies and the truth about fats. The course has a 3-week sugar detox built in, too. I know it’s scary to think about stopping eating sugar temporarily, however having others around you to support these efforts, as well as understanding what is happening in your body when detoxing makes it much easier to make positive changes in your life.
I know you can.
It’s actually more of a real food challenge, because we will be focusing on how to use REAL FOOD to boost energy, decrease anxiety, cut sugar/carb cravings and a whole lot more. Here is what you might expect after just a few short weeks:
- You might lose weight.
- You might experience less pain and/or inflammation.
- You might start to notice your joints are cracking less.
- You might experience an elevated and sustainably better mood.
- You might even meet a new best friend.
Or, you’ll just feel great overall. You might not know exactly why yet, but food definitely has the power to make you feel good or bad.
Want to find out how?
Join us every Thursday from January 7 through February 4, 2016 from 9:00am - 10:30am at TaborSpace in the Library Room.

It’s time to take care of yourself. The program is presented in a group setting, so you’ll have a great support network. Begin the new year with people who are ready to kick their sugar/carb addictions, improve their mood and lose the extra pounds they picked up over the holidays.
I’ll be honest (and this is important!)… This course isn’t for people with extremely strict diets, like vegans and even most vegetarians. We will focus on the importance of obtaining a balanced macro-nutrient ratio of carbs, high-quality fats and proteins, especially from REAL FOOD sources, such as grass-fed meats, pasture-raised chickens/turkeys/pork, wild-caught seafood and grass-fed butter. There is no reason any of what we do won’t be delicious!
